A Summer of Innovative Market Research and Marketing Projects

Well, it was a crazy summer, but a great one.

As I look over the projects Tenato’s team was working on, there were a few interesting highlights:

Housing Innovations: We had the pleasure of working with a major home builder to innovate new styles of homes for multi-generational families. This began with market research about the kind of homes that would appeal to immigrating families. We spoke to many people which generated lots of ideas. The home builder then went to work creating three very innovative designs. The potential buyers were impressed with their creative thinking, since these homes were affordable and adaptable, thanks to the ability to section off and lease out secondary suites. Good news for today’s housing affordability crisis.

Bus Transportation Research: We assisted Pacific Western Transportation (PWT) in conducting depth interviews with local municipal leaders, and a survey through communities the BC interior – to determine whether a new highway bus service was needed to replace Greyhound. Our market research uncovered that bus transportation was a vital need, especially to access medical services, employment, education, and First Nations communities. PWT will use the study to apply for a license to operate in this area, which would be a great help to the citizens in the area. We were also pleased to see it covered in the local press.

Major Re-Brand and Website Launch: One of our clients, TimberTown Building Centre, has launched its new branding, signage and website. This was the result of a huge team effort that included market research with their customers, strategic planning, and in-depth discussions with their store managers to structure their products and uncover the best way to organized the online experience. We are very proud of how these projects came together. There’s also a cool blog all about it here on TimberTown’s website.

This fall, we are deep into market research and strategy project with several clients, including new a Calgary-based lounge for which we just conducted focus groups, a huge metalworking business, and an e-learning studio. There’s always something new to market, and after 27 years in business, it’s great always have new entrepreneurs to invigorate us.

So if you’ve got something up your sleeve, we want to hear about it – drop us a note or call anytime.
